How I became an Energy Healer

My journey of becoming a healer is one that I can say truly is rooted in remembering the gift within. All through middle school and high school I had no “dream Job” or career that I felt a strong pull towards. It wasn’t until I had taken a college course for something I had absolutely no interest in that I then dropped out and took a break from trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I took a year off to work as a waitress and take off the pressure of having it all figured out!

I always had a fascination with travel, I knew there was more to the world and I wanted to explore it all one day. I was and still am sensitive to my environment, and I wanted to explore beautiful scenery, mountains, waterfalls, and the vastness of nature. I began taking yoga classes at a local gym and found that to be very therapeutic and relaxing. I began thinking about holistic health and decided to enrol myself in a Holistic Nutrition School. I truly enjoyed this course, and one particular class that peeked my interest the most was the Body Mind and Spirit class that was taught by my science teacher.

This class totally reawakened something deeper within me that longed for connection, love, magic and humanity. One day after class this same teacher asked us, the students, if we would like to receive a group healing. At the time It peeked my interest even though I didn’t know much about energy healing. I decided to stay after class that day, along with 15 or so students, eager to experience something we felt would be special and different.

Within a minute of our teacher sending out this group healing I had a profoundly spiritual experience that changed me, in a way I couldn’t quite explain. I had been going through a very challenging time, finding myself very lonely, sad and disconnected to those around me. This healing was visual, I began to channel information, communicating with the cosmos, It felt I had an out of body experience.

This was an initiation, a calling, back home. A spiritual awakening that allowed me to tap back into the gifts, and purpose that my higher self was here to explore. Over the course of 9 years I began aligning more and more to this path of working with others in helping those who feel the calling of deepening their connection to source energy.

I began traveling to Asia, firstly to embark on a meditation and yoga retreat, which led me to dive deeper into the healing arts. I enrolled in a yoga teacher training program in Nepal for 6 months, studied Thai massage and reflexology in Thailand, worked and lived in Vietnam and Sri Lanka. Throughout my time away I focused on my own development and growth, with the objective of learning and evolving as a practitioner.

Before I could begin helping others I first had to acknowledge the inner work I had to do prior to being of service to others. The journey of inner work is never finished, as I mentioned above it is a daily practice to show up for ourselves in which ever way we can that best serves us.

One of my most difficult challenges was accepting the pain that I had been through in my life, difficult experiences that I had endured, all of these experiences built up a shield of protection around me. This shield was only a cushion of support to make my ego feel safe, however it only delayed my spiritual journey.

Much like an onion I began peeling the layers off, doing my best to break through negative and destructive thought patterns, unhealthy relationships, and letting go of what no longer served me. What helped me through some of the hardest moments was having key mentors and teachers in my life that would help lead a way for me to connect to my spirit when I wasn’t sure how to do that.

Energy healing was something I always gravitated towards, I started working on myself, deepening my connection with spirit. Over the years my communication with spirit and how information comes in has changed overtime. The way most of the information comes in is through channeling, it is a visual journey through the elements, with roots deeply ingrained in shamanism and quantum healing.

I am deeply grateful for each and every client I have the honour to work with, as I have the opportunity to use these gifts to be of service for the greater good of humanity! It is truly empowering and humbling to work in a space that is in the service of love, to create intentional growth in each and every one of my clients.
